Styles for Straight Medium Length Hair

If your hair is medium in length and are looking for different styling options then I have the three most flattering, easy and trendy ideas for you. Medium length hair can be very fashionable, it requires less work and really compliments many different facial features.

Listed Below Are My 3 Favorite Styles:

1. The Middle Part

An easy way to change up your style is to part your hair differently. This is a hard thing to do because we are so used to having a side swept part, but if you look at the Victoria’s Secret runway models, you will notice they are sporting a middle part. Try it! Gweneth Paltrow does a great job at making this style look gorgeous!

To Achieve This Style:

  1. Wash, condition and towel dry hair.
  2. Comb through from ends working up to roots.
  3. Apply product such as a mouse or thickening cream.
  4. Blow dry with a big round brush (this will help you to achieve some volume while adding a little bend to the ends), focusing on directing the hair back, this way the hair will easily part in the middle because you are not stressing a certain side.
  5. Part hair exactly where desired.
  6. Finnish with a flat iron to smooth the hair.

2. The Pulled Back Look

By teasing and pulling the front section of your hair back, you will notice a dramatic change in your style that completely brings attention to your cheek bones and eyes. I love this style, it is extremely flattering.

To Achieve This Style:

  1. If desired, wash, condition and towel dry hair (if dry, skip forward to step four).
  2. Comb through hair and apply product.
  3. Blow dry using a medium to big round brush until completely dry.
  4. Flat iron.
  5. Take a section of hair, from the front hair line, using the edge of the eyes as a guide, take little sections starting in the front and working your way to the middle of the head and back comb completely. Once the desired height is achieved smooth the hair gently over the back combed section and secure with a bobby pin.

3. Loosely Flipped Out

By softly flipping out the ends of your hair it makes a huge difference in the over all appearance.

To Achieve This Style:

  1. Wash, condition and towel dry hair.
  2. Comb through from ends working up to roots.
  3. Apply hair styling product such as a mouse or thickening cream.
  4. Blow dry with a medium sized round brush (this will help to give the hair more bend) once hair is 95% dry, go back in with the brush and flip the hair out wards. If you would like a dramatic flip use a smaller round brush, for a slight flip use a bigger brush.  Complete Drying till 100% done.
  5. Finnish with a hair iron, by pulling the iron down and slightly flip the ends out.

If all else fails, try using hot rollers or a Hot Tools curling iron to add a little volume.
